Bug Naked was no ordinary cat. With her striking aqua eyes, elf-like ears, and seal-point Sphynx charm, she spent her life exploring the world’s oceans alongside her hooman, Captain Kate McCue. Bug’s journey as a sailor began at just three months old, and she never looked back, preferring the open seas to life on land. Her EU passport made globe-trotting a breeze, and together, they chased endless summers around the world.

Bug’s name was inspired by Captain Kate’s childhood nickname, “Love Bug,” which suited this affectionate feline perfectly. She wasn’t just a love bug—she was a cuddle bug, a bed bug, and, most amusingly, a fashion bug. With over 100 outfits, uniforms, and costumes, Bug brought a touch of style to life onboard, always putting her best paw forward.

A highlight of Bug’s week at sea was “Bug Trivia,” a special event for the ship’s guests. The winner earned the honor of a snuggle with Bug herself, along with a limited-edition collector’s Bug pin. Her presence brought joy and connection to all who met her.

Historically, cats were once essential crew members on ships, tasked with controlling rodents. Bug Naked carried on that maritime tradition, not by hunting pests but by being a source of good luck, love, and comfort to everyone aboard.

On December 26, 2024, Bug sailed into the sunset for the final time. Her well-traveled spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, continuing to inspire with her legacy of adventure, style, and endless summers.
