What is a LOLcat

A LOLcat is a photo of a cat with a caption in broken English, often called lolspeak. Wikipedia says the word was in use on 4chan by June 2006, after Saturday Caturday threads. I Can Has Cheezburger posted its first image on 11 January 2007. That photo is the British Shorthair later nicknamed Happy Cat, with the line "I Can Has Cheezburger?"
