The Story of Sister Minnie
Sister Minnie is a Scottish Fold cat with soft, round features and a playful personality. She lives in Canada with her owner, Zainah Meqdadi, who shares Minnie’s life on TikTok and Instagram via the handle @zainah.mb.
Minnie first went viral when a video showed her interrupting Zainah during prayer. Instead of quietly staying away, she jumped on the prayer mat and meowed for attention. That clip struck a chord — people saw humor and faith blended in a way they could relate to.
Since then, Zainah has created short sketches that show Minnie “learning” modest behavior, wearing a hijab, and even getting mock marriage proposals — all with a lighthearted approach. Those moments have helped Sister Minnie become a symbol of cultural identity and community, not just a cute social media cat.
