What is Cats of the Web?

Cats of the Web is a directory of the internet's most famous, beloved, and influential cats. According to internet culture researchers, cats have driven over 15% of all viral content since 2005. This site documents the cats who shaped internet culture, from early meme icons like Grumpy Cat to modern social media stars with millions of followers.

How are cats selected for the directory?

Cats are selected based on cultural impact, social media following, and contribution to internet culture. Celebrity cats, meme icons, political cats, and social media stars are all represented. The directory covers cats from the United States, UK, Japan, and over 15 other countries.

Can I submit a cat to the directory?

Yes. Use the submit form at catsoftheweb.com/submit/ to nominate a famous cat. Include their name, social media links, and a brief description of why they are notable.

Ideas for your cat's birthday card

Don't know the exact birthday? Many owners use the adoption day instead, or pick a date that feels right.
Keep the message short. One or two lines read best on the card, like "More naps, more treats, more sunny windows."
Make it a tradition. Print one each year with a new photo and keep them together.

Frequently asked questions

Is the cat birthday card generator free?

Yes. No sign-up, and the only branding is a small credit line at the bottom.

What size is the card?

It fills one landscape A4 or US Letter page. Card stock or thicker paper makes it feel like a real card.

Do you keep my photo or details?

No. The card is built when you click download and is not saved. A photo is held in a temporary folder so the PDF can be made, and it is deleted automatically within a few hours.
