The absurd-formal school combines a title with a fluffy descriptor: Sir Whiskers, Lord Fluffington, Lady Paws, Captain Fuzzy, Doctor Whiskerbottom. The longer and more pompous, the funnier. These work especially well for cats that already act self-important.
Specific funny cat names from internet culture: Floppa (the Caracal meme), Bingus (the Sphynx meme), Walter (the bug-eyed white cat), Smudge (the dinner-table cat), Bongo Cat, Banana Cat, and Happy Cat (the original LOLcat from "I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER?"). Many of these started as specific cats and have spread to become general funny names.
