Max, also called Max-Arthur, was a snowshoe Siamese mix who lived in Houston, Texas with owner Helen Arnold. TODAY reported in 2013 that Max was 12, and that Arnold posted as TexasGirly1979 on YouTube.
Arnold told TODAY that Max climbed onto a Roomba the day it was unwrapped in December 2008, and that he kept riding it for years after. The clip that made him famous is Cat In A Shark Costume Chases A Duck While Riding A Roomba, posted in November 2012.
Adweek later wrote that around Halloween 2012, Arnold bought a shark costume for her pit bull. The outfit was too small, so she put it on Max instead.
Cuteness reported that Max died of cancer just shy of his 16th birthday, after Arnold posted a goodbye on Facebook. The site described him as a snowshoe and Siamese mix.
